In Narsingdi, a laborer was killed by a vehicle, the driver was arrested

A worker named Bachchu Fakir (57) was killed after being run over by a bulldozer in Narsingdi. The accident occurred on Wednesday (December 28) at around 12:15 pm on the road in front of Danga Bazar in Palash Upazila of Narsingdi district. The deceased Bachchu Fakir is the son of the deceased Samir Uddin of Hasanhata village in Danga Union of Palash Upazila. Local ward member Md. Abul Bashar confirmed this information.

According to police and local sources, Bachchu Fakir went to work as a laborer in Danga Bazar from his home in Hasanhata village as usual on Wednesday morning. Later, around 12:15 pm, he was crushed by a rickshaw while crossing the road in front of Danga Bazar. Bachchu Fakir died on the spot. Later, the people of the market gathered and arrested the driver of the rickshaw and handed him over to the police.

Danga Police Outpost In-Charge (ASI) Md. Khairul Islam said that the body of the deceased was recovered from the scene after receiving the information. Preparations are underway to send the body to the morgue at Narsingdi Sadar Hospital for autopsy. The driver of the lorry has been arrested. Further legal action is under process, he said.
