UP chairman shot dead in Narsingdi

Md. Mobarak Hossain, Narsingdi Correspondent: Mirzachar UP Chairman Zafar Iqbal Manik (50) of Raipura Upazila of Narsingdi district was shot dead by miscreants in the afternoon. The murder took place at around 4:45 pm on Saturday (December 3) in the local Shantipur Bazar. Confirming the truth of the incident, Barson Mia, brother of the deceased chairman Manik, said that supporters of the opponent Mirzachar Union Awami League General Secretary Md. Firoz Mia shot and killed Manik due to past enmity. His body has been recovered and sent to the morgue of Narsingdi Sadar Hospital. The deceased Zafar Iqbal Manik is the son of the deceased Abdul Motalib Mia of Mirzachar village of Mirzachar Union of Raipura Upazila of Narsingdi district. Home Minister inaugurates newly constructed building of Monohardi Police Station

Md. Mobarak Hossain, Narsingdi Correspondent: Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal unveiled the plaque of the newly built building of the Monohardi Police Station in Narsingdi. He told reporters that terrorism, militancy and drugs are not just a problem in Bangladesh, it is a global problem. 3 killed, 9 injured in three-way clash in Narsingdi

47 arrested in anti-drug operation in Dhaka

Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Crime and Intelligence Division has arrested 47 people on charges of drug trafficking and consumption in various areas of the capital. They were arrested and narcotics were recovered from their custody during the raids conducted in various police stations in the capital from 6 am on Tuesday to 6 am today. 151 grams of heroin, 120 bottles of phensidyl, 89 kg 940 grams of marijuana, 10,694 pieces of yaba and 20 injections were recovered from their custody. 35 cases under the Narcotics Control Act have been registered against the detainees at the relevant police stations.

The triennial conference of Dhaka District Awami League will be held today, Saturday (October 29). The conference will be held at 2 pm at the old trade fair ground in Agargaon Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the capital. Awami League Presidium member Advocate Kamrul Islam will inaugurate the conference. 2 madrasa students go missing after taking bath in Narsingdi, one's body found 20 hours later

Ghalib Haque (15), has been recovered. His body was recovered 20 hours after he went missing. The body was recovered from the Meghna River in Char Afzal of Alokbali Union of Narsingdi at around 1 pm on Friday (October 28).
