
Amnesty report: Free speech under threat
Bangladesh has provided humanitarian shelter to millions of Rohingya who were forcibly displaced from Myanmar. In total, about one million members of this community are still sheltering in the country. Bangladesh has also made progress in realizing economic and social rights. But freedom of expression is still under threat. Overall, the human rights situation in Bangladesh in 2019 was mixed.
