Pradeep Kumar Roy: Like the rest of the country, the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations have started in Raipur, Lakshmipur from Thursday (September 15). This year, a total of 3,570 students are taking part in the SSC and equivalent examinations at five centers in the upazila, said Secondary Education Officer Saiful Haque. It is learnt that this year's SSC examination began with the Bangla first paper on the first day. The examination was scheduled to be held on June 19, but was postponed to September 15 due to floods. Due to the global pandemic Covid 19, this year's examination is being held on a shortened syllabus that has been revised by reducing the subjects, marks and time of the examination. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has left Dhaka to attend the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II. The Prime Minister and her entourage left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on a VVIP flight of Bangladesh Biman at around 10:30 am today, Thursday (September 15). The Prime Minister will be received in London by the Bangladesh High Commissioner to the United Kingdom. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will attend the Queen's funeral at Westminster Abbey on Monday (September 19). The Prime Minister will leave London for New York on a special flight of Bangladesh Biman in the evening of the same day. The Prime Minister will be received at John F. Kennedy International Airport by Bangladesh Ambassador to the United States Muhammad Imran and Bangladesh Permanent Representative to the United Nations Muhammad Abdul Muhith.

Faridpur Correspondent - A mobile court has fined a sawmill owner after conducting a drive in Charbhadrasan of Faridpur. On Wednesday (September 14) afternoon, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Tanjila Kabir Tropa conducted a mobile court at Molly 'S' Mills in Purba, B, S, Dangi village of the union of the Upazila Sadar. At that time, the mobile court fined the sawmill owner Md. Abdur Rashid Molly Tk 10,000 under the 'Sawmill (License) Rules Act-2012'. Among others, Upazila Forest Officer Md. Motaleb Hossain Mia, Charbhadrasan Police Station and Ansar members were present in the drive.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has banned the public from entering within 200 yards of the SSC and equivalent examination centers to be held next Thursday (September 14). This ban was issued in a notification signed by DMP Commissioner Mohd. Shafiqul Islam on Wednesday (September 14). It said that the SSC and equivalent examinations are going to be held from Thursday (September 15). Some restrictions have been imposed at the centers during the examination to ensure a fair and peaceful examination. The ban has completely banned the entry of the public, except for the examinees, within 200 yards of the examination centers. This order will be in force from Thursday until the examination is held.

Head of State Sheikh Hasina has called on doctors to serve patients from a humanitarian perspective. She made this call at the inauguration ceremony of the country's first super-specialized hospital under Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) at 11 am today, Wednesday (September 14). The head of government joined the ceremony virtually from Ganabhaban.
