বঙ্গোপসাগরে সৃষ্ট ঘূর্ণিঝড় সিত্রাং বাংলাদেশের উপকূলীয় জেলাগুলোতে আঘাত হানবে বলে জানিয়েছে আবহাওয়া অধিদফতর। এই অবস্থায় ঘূর্ণিঝড়ের সম্ভাব্য ক্ষয়ক্ষতি মোকাবেলায় সর্বাত্মক প্রস্তুতি নিতে সংশ্লিষ্টদের নির্দেশ দিয়েছেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা। প্রধানমন্ত্রীর প্রেস সচিব ইহসানুল করিমের সূত্রে সরকারি বার্তা সংস্থা সোমবার (২৪ অক্টোবর) বিকেলে এই খবর জানান। ঘূর্ণিঝড় সিত্রাং আগামীকাল মঙ্গলবার দেশের উপকূলীয় লঞ্চলে আঘাত করতে পারে বলে পূর্বাভাস পাওয়ার পরপরই প্রধানমন্ত্রী মাঠ পর্যায়ের কর্মকর্তাদের কাছ থেকে থেকে তথ্য জানছেন এবং এই ঝড়ের ফলে জীবন ও সম্পত্তির ক্ষয়ক্ষতি হ্রাসে সংশ্লিষ্ট কর্মকর্তাদের প্রয়োজনীয় সব নির্দেশনা দিয়েছেন।

সাগরে অবস্থানরত ঘূর্ণিঝড় সিত্রাং পায়রা সমুদ্রবন্দর থেকে ৩৩৫ কিলোমিটার দক্ষিণ-দক্ষিণপশ্চিমে অবস্থান করছে জানিয়েছে আবহাওয়া অধিদফতর। এছাড়াও এটি কক্সবাজার সমুদ্রবন্দর থেকে ৩৯৫ কিলোমিটার ও চট্টগ্রাম সমুদ্রবন্দর থেকে ৪৪০ কিলোমিটার দক্ষিণপশ্চিমে অবস্থান করছে বলে জানিয়েছে সংস্থাটি। আজ সোমবার (২৪ অক্টোবর) দুপুরে আবহাওয়া অধিদফতরের ৯নং বিশেষ সতর্কবার্তায় এই তথ্য জানানো হয়েছে। সতর্কবার্তায় বলা হয়েছে, পূর্ব-মধ্যবঙ্গোপসাগর ও তৎসংলগ্ন পশ্চিম-মধ্য বঙ্গোপসাগর এবং উত্তর বঙ্গোপসাগর এলাকায় অবস্থানরত ঘূর্ণিঝড় ‘সিত্রাং' উত্তর-উত্তরপূর্ব দিকে অগ্রসর হয়ে উত্তর-পশ্চিম বঙ্গোপসাগর এবং তৎসংলগ্ন উত্তর-পূর্ব বঙ্গোপসাগর এলাকায় (অক্ষাংশ: ১৯.২° উত্তর, দ্রাঘিমাংশ: ৮৯.২° পূর্ব) অবস্থান করছে। এটি আজ দুপুর ১২টায় (২৪ অক্টোবর, ২০২২) চট্টগ্রাম সমুদ্রবন্দর থেকে ৪৪০ কিলোমিটার দক্ষিণপশ্চিমে, কক্সবাজার সমুদ্রবন্দর থেকে ৩৯৫ কিলোমিটার…

ঘূর্ণিঝড় সিত্রাং আজ (সোমবার) সন্ধ্যায় আঘাত হানবে বলে জানিয়েছেন দুর্যোগ ব্যবস্থাপনা ও ত্রাণ প্রতিমন্ত্রী ডা. এনামুর রহমান। ঘূর্ণিঝড় সিত্রাং নিয়ে সোমবার (২৪ অক্টোবর) সচিবালয়ে এক  ব্রিফিংয়ে সাংবাদিকদের তিনি একথা জানান। তিনি বলেন, ঘূর্ণিঝড় সিত্রাং সিভিয়ার সাইক্লোনে রূপান্তরিত  হয়েছে। আবহাওয়াবিদের তথ্য অনুযায়ী, আজ সন্ধ্যায় এটি আঘাত হানবে। আগামীকাল মঙ্গলবার ভোর ৬টা থেকে ৭টার মধ্যে উপকূল অতিক্রম  করবে। তিনি আরও বলেন, সিত্রাং  বাংলাদেশে আঘাত হানবে। ভারতে আঘাত হানার সম্ভাবনা নেই। সব থেকে বেশি আঘাত  হানবে বরগুনা এবং পটুয়াখালী।
