Staff Correspondent: About 300 kg of food items of Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) have been recovered from the residence of a grocer in Lakshmipur. These goods were recovered from Kuruji's house in Paschim Mandari village of Sadar upazila on Saturday (October 29) afternoon. Upazila Executive Officer Md. Imran Hossain conducted the operation with the assistance of the National Security Intelligence (NSI). The recovered goods are - 200 kg of TCB pulses, 40 kg of sugar and 62 liters of oil. The recovered goods are in the custody of the upazila administration. It is learned that these TCB products were illegally warehoused from Lakshmipur Terdas and Megha Terdas dealer Mohammad Mamun and were sold to Pabel and Afzal Patwari's son of Paschim Mandari village of the upazila.

An allegation has been made against Nurul Amin, the superintendent of Hajipara Al-Arafah Darul Uloom Dakhil Madrasa located in Char Lawrence Union, of selling free books given to students in Kamalnagar, Laxmipur by the kilogram to a hawker. On October 29 (Saturday), around 12 noon, while taking the books sold by Hajipara Arafah Darul Uloom Dakhil Madrasa in a pickup truck attached to Dhaka Metto-No. 15-3275, the superintendent of the madrasa fled after being stopped by local people along with the books. The triennial conference of Dhaka District Awami League will be held today, Saturday (October 29). The conference will be held at 2 pm at the old trade fair ground in Agargaon Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the capital. Awami League Presidium member Advocate Kamrul Islam will inaugurate the conference. Party General Secretary Obaidul Quader will be the chief guest. Dhaka district consists of five upazilas - Dohar, Savar, Dhamrai, Nawabganj and Keraniganj. There has been great enthusiasm among the leaders and workers of the district surrounding the conference. Earlier, the triennial conference of Dhaka District Awami League was held in September 2016.
