RUET came third in the Asia Pacific division of Huawei's ICT competition

A team from Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) has secured third place in the Asia Pacific (APAC) phase of telecommunications technology company Huawei's Information and Communication Technology Competition (ICT Competition). The announcement was made at the APAC awards ceremony held in Jakarta, Indonesia, on Thursday. This information was given in a press release from Huawei.

The competition, which began last year, saw the participation of over 1,000 undergraduate students from 25 universities in Bangladesh. The competition was divided into four categories: Network, Cloud, Computing, and Innovation. Ten students from each category were selected as winners of the Bangladesh phase based on their studies and test results.

Later, the top 12 students from among them were divided into four groups and competed in the APAC phase. One group of RUET students joined the network and another group participated in the computing phase. A team from Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) also competed in computing. Another team from the same university participated in the cloud phase. Among these four teams, the team of three from RUET, who participated in the network group, ranked in the top three among more than 6,400 students from 14 countries in the APAC phase.

The winning team members are Shubham Agarwala, Rakesh Kar and Md. Mazharul Islam, students of the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) Department of RUET. They were presented with awards and certificates in Jakarta on Thursday. The team will participate in the global phase to be held in Shenzhen, China next month.
