RAB has arrested a woman on charges of strangling her husband to death over a marital dispute. She was arrested from Mithachara area of Mirsarai police station on Thursday midnight.

The arrested woman has been identified as Rumi Akhtar (25). She is the daughter of the deceased Md. Tajur of Bazarpara village under Pekua police station in Cox's Bazar.

RAB said that a year and a half ago, Rumi got married to Md. Riduan from the same area. After marriage, Rumi got involved in a relationship with another man. She used to have a fight with her husband about this. Rumi was arrested on August 28 in a murder case. She was released on bail on October 17. After being released from prison, the couple again had a dispute over an extramarital affair. As a result, on the night of December 27, she strangled her husband Riduan, covered him with a blanket and locked him in the house and fled. The next day, Riduan's family members found him dead. Riduan's brother filed a case with Pekua Police Station as the plaintiff in this incident.
