The ADC and former civil surgeon said that the misunderstandings over the December 4 incident have been resolved after the reconciliation meeting in Lakshmipur. The agreement was announced after an hour-and-a-half-long meeting between the district administration and doctors at the local circuit house on Thursday. During this, they were captured on camera hugging each other.
It is learned that at 12 noon, the district administration and local medical leaders held a meeting on the second floor of the Circuit House. Everyone left the meeting at 1:30 pm.
At this time, Dr. Salah Uddin Sharif said, "We have resolved the distance that has arisen between us through discussions. This decision has been taken after considering the overall issues to properly run the administration."
OSD ADC Sheikh Murshidul Islam said, "Now we have known each other, learned, understood each other. The incident happened because we could not recognize each other. Now we have forgotten the incident of the 4th for the sake of the development of Lakshmipur."
Present at the event were Deputy Commissioner Homayra Begum, Superintendent of Police ASM Mahtab Uddin, Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Md. Nuruzzaman, Civil Surgeon Dr. Md. Mostafa Khaled Ahmed, Dr. Ashfaqur Rahman Mamun, Dr. Zakir Hossain and Bar General Secretary Advocate Nurul Huda.
Incidentally: On December 4, former acting civil surgeon Dr. Salah Uddin Sharif was sentenced to 3 months in prison by a mobile court for walking past the entrance of the city's Kakli School, run by the district administration. The next day, he was granted bail within 24 hours on Tuesday and acquitted on Wednesday.
The High Court summoned ADC Sheikh Murshidul Islam and the Executive Magistrate Md. Nurzzaman, who runs the mobile court, in these incidents. In this incident, the ADC was made OSD and posted to the Ministry of Public Administration.
