A man who set himself on fire outside a courthouse in Manhattan, New York, USA, has died.
A criminal trial against former US President Donald Trump was underway in this Manhattan court when a man named Maxwell Azzarello (37) set himself on fire outside the courthouse.
The incident occurred on Friday local time. Trump was in the courtroom at the time. Trump left the courtroom after the incident.
Maxwell first threw 'conspiracy theory' leaflets into the air. Then he poured flammable material over himself and set himself on fire.
Maxwell was rescued in critical condition and taken to hospital, where he later died.
Investigators say Maxwell, who lived in Florida with his family, arrived in New York from Florida last week.
New York police have no information linking Maxwell to criminal activity.
Maxwell's family members did not know that he had come to New York from Florida.
