In the Laxmipur Zilla Parishad election, Monirul Islam Ripu won the general member post of Kamalnagar (Ward No. 5) by getting 46 votes (lock). His rival candidate Gias Uddin Molla (Water Tap) received 45 votes, while the other candidate Faisal Ahmed Ratan (Elephant) received 25 votes. Monirul Islam Ripu was elected by getting 01 more votes privately.
Meanwhile, in Ramgati Upazila (Ward No. 4), Mejbah Uddin (VP Helal) received 63 votes each for the general member post (electric fan) and Amjad Hossain (lock) received 44 votes each. Mejbah Uddin (VP Helal) was elected privately by getting 19 more votes.
Among the reserved (Ward No. 2) female candidates (Football), Sharmin Jahan Orin was elected unofficially, receiving 146 votes each.
Md. Anwar Hossain Akand, the returning officer for the District Commissioner and District Council elections, confirmed the matter.
