400 sacks of Indian sugar seized, 3 arrested

Police seized 400 sacks of Indian sugar in a special raid in Netrakona on Monday morning. At this time, three smugglers were arrested.

According to the police, a truck was stopped and searched in Rajurbazar area of the city in a special police operation. At this time, 400 sacks of Indian sugar coming from India through smuggling were seized. The market value of which is about 24 lakh taka. The value of the seized truck is around Tk 18 lakh.

The police also said that the son of the deceased Moti Mia of Chakpara area of the district headquarters was accused of being involved in smuggling. Masum Mia is the son of Swapan Mia of Ulukhla village of Kaliganj upazila of Gazipur district. Zayed Mia and Babu Mia, son of deceased Barek Mia of Harbait village of Pubail police station, were arrested.

OC Abul Kalam said, after the case against the arrested, they were sent to jail through the court.
