According to the latest data from Worldometers, a website that tracks coronavirus infections, deaths and recoveries, on Friday (December 16) morning, 1,328 people have died from the virus worldwide in the last 24 hours. This means that the number of deaths has increased by 59 compared to the previous day. This brings the global death toll to 6,666,947.
During the same period, 485,667 people were newly infected with the virus. This means that the number of newly identified patients has decreased by more than 45,000 compared to the previous day. This brings the total number of patients infected with the virus since the beginning of the pandemic to 656 million 88,708 people.
